Privacy Policy

AkiliSolar designs, supplies, installs and maintains solar energy systems for homes and businesses in Kenya. Our office is at Luther Plaza, Nyerere Rd, Nairobi, Kenya.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. For anything not covered here, write to info@akilinova.co.ke.

Enquiry and survey details: your name, email address, phone number, physical site location, roof or premises details, your current electricity bill, and the service you are interested in.

Financing documents: where you apply for KCB solar financing through us, we handle the documents the bank requires — certified pay slips, bank statements, a copy of your National ID and your KRA PIN.

Project and service records: system design documents, commissioning records, monitoring data from your installation, maintenance visits and warranty claims.

Website data: basic technical information such as pages visited and approximate location, used only to keep the site working and understand which pages are useful.

To size, quote, install and commission your system, and to schedule site surveys.

To provide ongoing operation and upkeep, monitor system performance, and honour warranty obligations.

To process a financing application on your instruction.

To respond to enquiries, and — where you have asked for it — to send occasional updates about our services. You can opt out of those at any time.

To meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

We share it only with the parties needed to deliver your project: our own installation and maintenance teams; the bank, where you have applied for financing; our insurers, in relation to the cover on your installation; and equipment suppliers where a warranty claim requires it.

We may disclose information where we are required to by law, by a regulator such as EPRA, or by a court.

We keep project and commissioning records for as long as we support the system and for as long afterwards as warranty and legal obligations require.

Financing documents are retained only as long as needed to process and support the application, and then disposed of securely.

Enquiries that do not become projects are cleared from our active records once they are no longer useful to you or to us.

Documents submitted through our secure submission gateway are handled on a restricted-access basis, and only staff who need them for your application can see them.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will act on it and notify you and the relevant authority where the law requires.

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019, you may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, ask us to delete information we are not required to keep, object to a particular use, or withdraw a consent you previously gave.

This site uses only what it needs to function. Some pages embed video from YouTube; we use the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie domain, so YouTube does not set tracking cookies until you press play.
